ABOUT US:

CountTheBallots.org is a coalition of volunteers.  We held our first meeting in September 14, 2008 in Philadelphia, PA.  Expenses are currently handled out-of-pocket.  Lynn Landes, publisher of TheLandesReport.com, is one of the founders.

MISSION:

Our mission is to return to voters direct access to a paper ballot and effective public oversight of the voting process.

We support paper ballots and hand counts at the polls on election day.  We oppose voting machines, ballot counting machines, central counting locations, early voting, and unrestricted absentee voting.  We strongly suggest that absentee voting be limited to federal office only for Americans living or based abroad; and that voting and vote counting should be conducted at polls at U.S. embassies, consulates, overseas military bases and military ships.

We are action-oriented.  We want you to do something, not just read about it!

We are fighting for our constitutional right to vote and to have votes counted properly.  Until we return transparency to the voting process, there is little for local poll watchers to watch or federal observers to observe.  There is little to stop corporate insiders from stealing votes nationwide, particularly when their software must be updated for each new election.  There is little to stop election officials from tampering with early voting data or absentee ballots.

News media exit polls, government-controlled audits, and post election recounts are neither sufficiently transparent to detect election fraud, nor constitutional substitutes for the right to have votes counted properly in the first place.

Our politicians from both major parties, along with many in the news media, have a virtually black-out on this issue.  We need to educate the public and pursue our politicians!

Please JOIN US in this battle to COUNT THE BALLOTS!
